Valentine’s Day: Sporty Feminine

Faux Fur Coat Zara | Sweater The Girl That Loves | Jeans City of Others | Sneakers Nike | Socks Stance | Hand Warmers DIY | Wristlet Giorgio Armani Cosmetic Case | Necklace Zara | Sunglasses Oliver Peeples
I thought this outfit would be great for a casual Valentine’s Date. I love a good monochromatic look. When I got this light pink faux fur coat I knew it would be perfect to pair with a mono grey look. I was gifted this grey sweatshirt by The Girl That Loves. I love the asymmetrical zipper detail on the right side. I’ve been wanting a sweatshirt like this for a while so when I saw it at The Girl That Loves office I just had to have it.
I decided to pair the sportiness of the sweatshirt and sneakers with this pale pink faux fur coat from Zara. Aldo to add a bit more femininity I added a statement necklace. With this sportier look I didn’t want to grab a big bag so I went for this Giorgio Armani cosmetic bag wristlet. It’s perfect for just my phone, ID, cash and some lipgloss. And with the built in mirror its perfect for an on the go woman. Where would you wear this look?

Shimmer Tattoo Nail Art

I got these Shimmer Jewelry Tattoos from FYI PR. I can’t really wear them out right now as I’m totally covered up. So I got the idea to create cool nail art out of them. This was my first time trying this so bear with me lol. I found this process pretty easy and quick. It’s a great way to get nail art without have to draw it on yourself. Stay tuned into my Instagram for when I try this again.

What You Will Need:

  • Selected Nail Color. I suggest color that will allow the silver or gold pop.
  • Top Coat (not shown)
  • Nail Polish Remover
  • Brush
  • Cotton Balls
  • Shimmer Tattoos
  • Water (not shown)

1. Paint Nails Desired Color. Let Dry Overnight.

2. Clean Up Any Mistakes with Nail Polish Remover.

3. Cut Out Desired Shapes for Nail Art.

4. Put Nail Art on Nail and Apply Wet Cotton Ball to Back. Peel Paper Off.

5. Paint Nails with Top Coat. Let Dry Fully.

Shape wear as Outerwear

Jacket BCBGeneration | Top DIY | Skirt Jewltoned | Heels Zara | Bag Thrifted | Necklace Juicy Couture | Bangles DTLA | Earrings Gift
This outfit started with this skirt which is actually shape wear from a company called Jewltoned. The shape wear comes in a variety of colors just not nude tones. It takes the boring out of shape wear and now I won’t be embarrassed if it shows. I was gifted this shape wear at a Blogger’s Night Out I hosted a few weeks back. I was able to meet the designer and she told me all about the product. I love a high waist so I chose this skirt. I actually put it on under my skirt the night of the event it matched my dress perfectly.
When I put the skirt on today I felt a bit “Pretty Womanish.” Channeling Julia Roberts usually is a great idea but I didn’t want to look like a hooker all day lol. So I threw on this pastel moto jacket to take the look a bit more rocker chic. Silver accessories and my new vintage clutch and I was ready to go. This skirt will definitely be worn as shape wear and as a skirt.

DIY: Spring/Summer Crop Top

You guys asked for it on my Instagram, so here it is. Below is the tutorial for the crop top I was wearing in Spring Crop. Show my how you rock this DIY on Instagram with the hashtag #swankstylista.

DIY Steps:

  1. Cut sleeves off to make long arm holes
  2. Cut back of shirt in half, straight down the middle, from hem to neckline
  3. Measure desired length and cut
  4. Make two half-moon shape cuts from the neck to the end of the top, horizontally and be sure not to cut off the collar (Be sure to leave at least 1 inch straps)
  5. Once on, tie at the collar and at the bottom to secure the crop top in place
  6. Style as desired

Denim & Pink

Today I shot a great video that I hope you all find very helpful. This is the last look from the video and I decided to stay in it. I took my Gypsy Junkies midi dress and paired it with my denim men’s shirt. I kept my jewelry silver to coordinate with my shoes and added my beige vintage clutch. I love this dress I bought it at a Gypsy Junkies Sample Sale for less than $10.

Neon Leopard

While looking in my closet this morning I remembered a picture I saw on Instagram and thought I definitely have something similar to it. So this was sort of a look for less. The original photo I saw had a Kenzo Sweater and a skirt. I started with this sweatshirt I cropped and cut the sleeves from H&M. I paired it with a high waisted skirt and simple heels. I played up the jewelry but kept it all in a silver tone.
