Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton

Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton

A few weeks ago I went to the Louis Vuitton Volez, Voguez, Voyagez exhibit and this past monday I went back. The exhibit chronicles the House of Louis Vuitton from 1854 to the present. This beautiful exhibit was curated by Olivier Saillard with Artistic Director and Set Designer, Robert Carsen. The best part of the exhibit, it’s FREE! The exhibit is magnificent and I actually wish it was a bit bigger because I didn’t want to leave. I plan on returning a few more times before it closes January 7th.

The first floor of the exhibit is designated to the evolution of the trunk. It takes you through different trunks made for different modes of transportation; boat, car, plane and train. Each room submerges you in the experience of the different modes of travel while displaying the trunks and select clothing and accessories exquistely.

The second floor is dedicated to Louis Vuitton’s relationship to 20th and 21st century Hollywood. The first room was dedicated to old Hollywood, I fell in love and could have stayed there forever.  From the clothing to the tufted walls to the chandelier, my heart just melted when I entered it. The exhibit goes on to showcase perfume, men’s fashion and designer collaborations. The exhibit finishes with a music room and one dedicated to red carpet fashion.
