This year God has pushed me all the way out of my comfort zone to trust Him FULLY. Like not with just the small stuff, not just once in a while but like every second of the day and with BIG STUFF, like my rent. Most of you may be like “How are you not trusting Him to get your rent?” Well I’m a freelancer and up until the end of last year I had a part-time job that fully covered my rent. When my hours were cut significantly, my trust and faith were tested. I’m not going to lie I was panicking, I was doing everything I thought I should to figure out “What to do?” Continue reading “Trusting God”

This post is a little different, as in it’s a lot lighter than my last few posts. I wanted to share some of the products that I’m in love with right now. I’ve been LOVING the following products: Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose, Shea Moisture 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara, Vanity Planet Forever Young Hot & Cold Rejuvenating Facial Wand and Lauren’s All Purpose Salve. Dear Brown Girl,
Why are you weeping? Your tears of inadequacies are warranted as the world tells you your skin is too dark, your nose is too wide, your lips are too big and your hair is unruly. You cry for the lack of seeing those who look like you in ads, magazines, movies and television. Your tears are valid and necessary but I am here to tell you, you won’t be crying long. Last night I got asked, “Why don’t you ever have a man?” And honestly there’s no simple answer to that other than, “I’m waiting on God’s best.” He isn’t perfect he’s just perfect for me. I made a pact with God after my last relationship and said “I don’t want to date until the one you have for me is revealed.” Needless to say I didn’t think that I’d be still #LivingSingle 5 years later. On this journey of waiting and working I have realized a few things.
Over the years this has turned into just another day for me as I don’t have a boo/bae to be my Valentine. In recent years I’ve celebrated the day of love with my girls by making it Galentine’s Day. Whether it’s a dinner, movies, a party or a game night, just celebrating and appreciating one another. This Valentine’s Day my plans have changed several times lol, but I will be at New York Fashion Week and in the evening spending time with bae aka work. As most of my work is done in bed anyways, that’s where I’m creating this post now, I’m going to be a bit more festive this year with a matching set from Gelato Pique. With the new year comes a new venture for me. I recently launched a Christian t-shirt line, 12:2. 12:2 is named for Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” The designs are simple, the front features the chapter and verse numbers of each verse. tI thought this simple and somewhat cryptic design would get people to ask what it means and start a conversation about Jesus. The back has the entire verse with key points highlighted, I want the wearer and the reader to be encouraged when they see the verse. Encourage through the Word of God, what He says about you and what He’s promised you.
Each shirt comes in Black and White with Men’s and Women’s options available for each verse. Right now there’s 6 mens shirts and 8 women’s shirts. There are two exclusive verses for women. More designs to be released each month to expand to long sleeve t-shirts and accessories.
Check out all the designs at http://www.twelvetwotees.com, I’d love your feedback. Now through Jan 31 receive $5 off your order with code JAN2018. What’s one thing you have in the works for 2018?
A few weeks ago I went to the Louis Vuitton Volez, Voguez, Voyagez exhibit and this past monday I went back. The exhibit chronicles the House of Louis Vuitton from 1854 to the present. This beautiful exhibit was curated by Olivier Saillard with Artistic Director and Set Designer, Robert Carsen. The best part of the exhibit, it’s FREE! The exhibit is magnificent and I actually wish it was a bit bigger because I didn’t want to leave. I plan on returning a few more times before it closes January 7th.
